I had a pleasure last night to get an invitation for this event, since not many people knew about it. The winners this year were the great Jack DeJohnette, Jimmy Owens, Sheila Jordan, Von Freeman and Charlie Haden. There were a couple of young and old jazz artists that joined them on stage such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Frank Wess, Ron Carter, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Benny Golson, Candido Camaro, Dave Liebman, Grace Kelly, Kris Bowers,Kenny Barron, Bobby Hutcherson etc. 
There were some important people in the audience as well: Jason Moran, Jay Clayton, Roy Haynes, John Hendricks and other members of NEA Jazz Masters community.

Needless to say that every performance was brilliant in its own charm,way and age. I still have to virtually underline mister Bobby HutherSON`s performance, and mr. Frank Wess`s perfomance. They both magically caught the hearts in our ears and will stay there forever as 2 unforgettable moments in the history of music inside us all.

It was pleasure being around those wonderful people. I definitely have to thank Frank Stewart, one of the best photographers alive for inviting me there.
